It comes from Howard Dean’s call to keep momentum building. The Spring Conference is a venue for Democratic candidates and politicians to address voters and constituents. There are several exciting county races that local Democrats are in on June 8th: 3rd and 5th District Supervisors District Attorney Superior Court Judge County Education Superintendent State Assembly (Wes Chesbro’s seat) State Senate (Senator Wiggin’s seat) US Congress (Mike Thompson’s seat) Both Wesley Chesbro and Mike Thompson are running again, but Sen. Wiggins is stepping down after many years of dedicated public service; so that race should be lively. We should hear from all Democratic local candidates, so this is your chance to interface with our future leaders. Momentum was on our side in the 2008 election. Democrats in Mendocino County are truly unstoppable as can be evidenced by (y)our hard work (and others) defeating Measure A last November by a 2/3rds majority. We also turned our Board of Supervisors from a 3:2 (Rep. - 2, Ind. - 1 and Dems - 2) to a 4:1 (Dems - 4 and Ind. - 1) majority. It is important that we elect Democratic candidates in Northern California. So save the date now. This event will be popular, so tickets may sell out. Remember, when we work together we're unstoppable. Should you wish to sponsor the Spring Conference please send a check to the Ukiah Valley Democratic Club and mail to P.O. Box 294, Ukiah, CA 95482. Please contact me if you have any questions. Sincerely, Wendy Pollitz, President, Ukiah Valley Democratic Club 707-462-1399, -email- Run-to-Win Campaign Training Run-to-Win campaign training by National Women's Political Caucus Saturday, January 9, SEIU Hall, Ukiah Run-to-Win campaign training is offered by Mendocino chapter of National Women's Political Caucus (NWPC) Saturday, January 9, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the SEIU Hall, 655 King Court, Ukiah.
