Wendy Pollitz, president of the UVDC, reports that the downtown Ukiah headquarters continues to be busy, with people dropping in all day.

Thanks to all the volunteers who are staffing the office, Mon. - Sat., 10 am-6 pm. And thanks to everybody who helped put on and who attended the Opening Reception Aug. 15, and the Labor Day Grand Opening event on Monday.

A room full of Democrats also gathered at the headquarters on Thursday night last week to watch Barack Obama give his acceptance speech at the Democratic Convention. Lots of clapping in that room that night, and one new Democratic Party registration.
